I've said it before and I''ll keep saying it. I love tapestry crochet. What started as a simple dip of my toe into a new concept (colorwork) ignited my passion. Something about each color and strand working together to make vivid pictures...truly awe-inspiring. I didn't think I could get anymore intrigued until I saw these crochet ties featuring colorwork. I usually make tapestries and hang them as decorations. I forget that much like art as a whole, the possibilities are limitless. The best part is that the small size means they won't take forever to make. While I probably won't be doing my own crochet tie anytime soon I will be looking into other small accessories featuing colorwork.
A while ago, I took up sewing and, of course, went through the inevitable beginner fails. With those came plenty of fabric scraps. Technically, I could just throw them in with my yarn scraps and call it a day, but the scrappy (pun intended) crafter in me refused. Luckily, as I was looking through Pinterest I found this hack for making tape from fabric scraps. I think it would make a great alternative to washi tape in journals and even scrapbooks. I can finally say goodbye to those pesky fabric scraps.
Ah, painting. Throughout my creative journey, I’ve had an on-again, off-again relationship with it. I love the vibrant results it can produce, but I’ve always struggled with the level of patience needed to really nail the technical side. Recently, I decided to stop letting that hold me back. Enter this piece, my “Back to Basics” leaf painting. It’s the result of a self-guided two-week painting fundamentals bootcamp. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start, and I love the message it represents: we all start somewhere.
